St Patrick’s Day Parade Workshop @ St Bonaventures Hall

Sunday 11th February, 14:00 – 17:00

W.E. IRISH , Lamplighter Arts CIC & University of Bristol are collaborating to research and design a St Patricks Day Parade 2024 for Central Bristol which celebrates being Irish beyond the usual stereotypes and from a migrant perspective. With at least 10% of the UK population identifying as having some Irish heritage we are asking for really varied participation. Currently the Bristol Irish archive is kept inside all our homes, our memories and experiences as Irish and multi heritage Irish migrants of many generations. This is the first stage in building one.

We welcome you to join us in any or ALL of these ways:

1. Share this post widely

2. Fill out this survey… https://uk.surveymonkey.com/r/39GT2ZD

3. Come to a workshop (see flyer below).

4. Help perform puppets & props or walk with us in the parade.

You don’t need any experience to join in and everyone is welcome .

If you are coming along please bring an object which connects you to your Irish heritage, it might be a photo or a letter or something someone gave you. It will help generate ideas for the workshop and enable you to make a personal contribution to a shared piece of artwork.
